‘Hidden’ challenges notions of what disability looks like and what it means to be disabled.

Designed to raise awareness and understanding of hidden disabilities, the ‘Hidden’ exhibit uses photographic theory to call into question notions of representation. The exhibit featured a series of still framed portraits and one TV screen, also framed, to create the illusion of an additional still portrait. Gradually each of the still portraits come to life on screen, and the people featured tell their experiences of having an impairment that is visibly hidden.
